I played ball with a thin elastic head band to hold my grey (natural highlights) back from my face for the first time which was a success. I've been looking for those kind of headbands that the soccer players use and out of all the places the dollar store sells them!

Here's number 2 of the 'Plain White Tee' drawings.
I started to snowboard for the first time ever about 3 weeks ago and now am hooked! Went last Family weekend and again this coming weekend!!!
Not Shaun White as of yet, more like the opposite of him. Its very challenging which I love and what keeps me bouncing back up from my wipeouts is getting the feeling of "Oh if I lean that way that will happen", or "What will happen if I do this?".
Anyways, have a great weekend and be safe.

This is how every morning will start for me and I've never done a whole series before so we'll see how this turns out. But I WILL finish!

Roller Coaster

So yesterday was my last day working on DirtGirlWorld and what a first studio experience that was! It was a pleasure; as well as, to animate along with Matt Scott and have a laughing fest when we were the only ones in the studio will be missed. It felt like college but only this time we were the receiving the cheques, well not now :(

And to be around such talented artist was very inspiring and kept me on my toes. With the schedule and deadlines we faced, I would work with anyone involved with the project in a heartbeat!

To the After F/X animators/compositors who have about 2 weeks left, finish strong!

SPIN VFX is where we produced the show and I hope one day to work on the feature department one day....one day...but as long as I'm animating I'll more then HAPPY!

Well everyday is a great day!
Been really busy ever since I landed my first time studio job here at SPIN VFX and I'm learning tons from time management, my workflow, and meeting new people!

First off, 'DirtGirl World', the show that I'm helping out with, has aired on CBC on October 5th; I'm a bit late on posting. :D It can be seen at 7 and 11:30 in the morning so get up and join our world! There's a trailer on their site, click the image below.

Also, I totally forgot about this until someone asked me the other day. Next month I've also had the pleasure being part of an animated short film titled 'Live Music'. It premieres and opens for 'Planet 51' on November 20th!!! I plan to go back home that day to celebrate with friends and family; should be GREAT! Hit the image for the trailer.

And how can I forget about Nuit Blanche!!!
This was my first time and was it ever F-U-N-tastic. I mostly stayed at a free life drawing session that went from 7PM til 4AM!!! But between those times we also went to learn some dancing such as salsa, foxtrot, tango, and its harder then it looks.

In the meantime, have fun and be good!

The short film produced by Mass Animation, Live Music is going to hit the BIG SCREEN opening for the CGI film 'Planet 51'! I have one shot that's in the short and am totally STOKED!

Ever since I started as a Character Animator at Spin, its been keeping me very busy which is nice!
First off are some life drawings from Toronto's City Hall; kind of rusty but it keeps me relaxed. I'll try to be doing this every weekend under the SUN!

And second of all, check out our Secret Agent thread over at CG Talk. Its a challenge a bunch of us at work are teaming up in. Its going to be tough with our work schedule and this...wish us good luck! :D

Also, as soon as MASS ANIMATION announces the theatrical release date of the short film I was part of...I'll let you know!!!

BIG NEWS!

First off I've completed my shot for Mass Animation and can't wait to see it! Its in post-production at the moment and soon enough there will be a rough edit of the short film, Live Music! I receive on screen credit and some cash! =] Yair, the director is looking for distributors so it can be released in theaters before the feature presentatio, how cool would that be!

And the biggest news of all is I got a job at Spin VFX Pro as CG Character Animator! Its only been 2 weeks going into my 3rd and LOVING IT! Even though there's quite a load of work, I don't mind it at all. Funny thing too is that the last two guys I worked with on the Pepsi Recycling project are my bosses once again =]

After Mr. Obama's speech, I felt pumped, renewed, and like we were celebrating New Year's Eve. Also, being the first african american to become President of the U.S. of A was history!

Here's his transcript of the day:

“My fellow citizens: I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors.

“I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.

“Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms.

“At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents. So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.

“That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age.

“Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.

Here's what I'm working on at the moment, trying to get into the character's head more. Its a design of my Brett Jubinville's steam character.

I thought it would be a great idea for the character to try out his jetpack for the very first time since the character is freshly born!

And I'm aiming to finish this by Sunday because Mass Animation is going to start on Monday!!!! Very excited!!!!!!!

Hit me up some critiques and comments.
I'm still blocking things out so I got a LOT of work ahead of me.

After not a couple of days not working on this, I've animated the face slightly and fingers but its hard to see since the movement it quick. I also took out the nose picking part and added a ball.
Here's a rough clean (still on stepped tangents), I'll be setting it to spline and polishing it up tonight for an ACE!?

Its hard to see but I'm going to have the camera truck in and he's picking his nose, gets shocked, slowly looks at where he's going to serve and does all the actions. Not really sure.

Just loosening up and sketching away digitally. Its great now I don't have to scan, crop, and all that jazz. I just draw save and post; awesome!

I wanted to challenge myself and draw something interesting with the feet in action instead of being flat on the ground, hope it works.

Wimbledon

During the weekend was great for tennis in Wimbledon. First there was the Williams sisters fighting for the title in the final and what can I say about the mens finals! Even though I was rooting for Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal was the winner. It was the greatest tennis finals I have ever watched!!!
So I sketched up a tennis player, with Alias Sketchbook Pro, in black that Federer wears most times in grand slams and a small update on my last piece.

It has arrived! After a tight deadline, the project I was proudly part of is complete. As an animator, I do see mistakes I would have liked to finish but time was an issue. This was my first freelance job as an animator! What a great team to work with even though we didn't see each other everyday but there was good ol' Skype to communicate.

I thank Brett Jubinville - Founder/ Director who gave me the opportunity and led us to VICTORY! Also, there was David Gambacurta - Art director/ Animator, Andrea Cyr - Audio, Stefan Soc - Lighting/ Rendering, Chris Nelder - Rigging, and Carlo Giovani - Illustrator

Well I've been busy being part of my first HUGE project a friend directed by Brett Jubinville . I'm unable to show you anything at the moment but will keep you updated when the project launches! Well every since I've been warming up with Facebook's graffiti wall, I've been getting ideas and found one that I liked and tweaked.
Let me know if any of you ladies and gentlemen want one whether it be on a normal shirt, a girly shirt , or even hoody jacket.
My next design is going to be for a hoody jacket unless you want to wait for that one biggrin.gif

Well I've been addicted to a new feature on Facebook, called Graffiti Wall. You can view some doodles Here that I have been drawing for others on their Graffiti walls instead of leaving a comment.
I love it because is loosens up my arm and I love to share with others, I consider it a gift from me. There will be more to come.

Its been so long since I posted anything. I've been busy trying to get a job and putting a rough demo reel for Silicon Knights and I still have a lot to work on. Even though school is done, its amazing how much motivation we have to work.

I LOVE this season. Most people don't like Winter season but I love it because of the different routines you would do as to Summer time. I also find it sexy when the women are all bundled up and warm...haha...Just moi!!
Anyways, I got inspired by a friend's photo she took while at work and assembled a Holiday Card. I don't know if I'm going to print to out and mail'em to friends and family yet; we'll see.

Well here's today's painting experiment. Done in my new favourite painting program, Painter. This was done with the digital watercolours and the brushes used were the Dry, Simple wet, and Gentle eraser brush. I love playing in this program, it feels very traditional.

Well I'm just playing around with Wet Acrylic brushes in Painter. Got inspired to paint because of Mark Behm, he's under my animators links check him out...AMAZING!! . Most of the time he plays around with different brushes, so I decided to do the same and choose which ones I like. I tried just using cold colours; its alright!! Enjoy :)
